Entrance Awards
We’re delighted that you’ve applied to TVC.
Each year, TVCoffers millions of dollars in scholarships, bursaries and other awards to assist our students. Whether you have an offer of admission from TVCor are waiting to hear from us. You may be eligible for up to $2,000 in non-repayable aid based on financial need.
Once classes start in the fall many more awards will open and you need to come back to the application to apply for those awards. The application will be open until Oct. 31.
If you have already applied for entrance awards we encourage you to apply again for the in-course awards.

For students starting in Summer 2022 Term, please select the 2021 academic year when you apply. Check below for details.

To Apply:
You will need to activate your TVConline account. Look for an email with a temporary password and details on how to activate your account. If you applied to, or attended TVCin the past, you can continue to use your existing My.TVCaccount. For assistance with account setup, contact Service Desk at 647.265.3837 ext. 22129.
Once logged in to your online Student Home, select the “Financial Aid” tile, then select the “Apply for Financial Aid” link. Then follow these steps:
Select the magnifying glass to choose your academic year:
2021 — for students applying for the Fall 2021, Winter 2022 and Summer 2022 terms
2022 — for students applying for the Fall 2022, Winter 2023 and Summer 2023
Fill out required fields in the “Information” and “Additional Details” sections
In the “Financial Need” section, select terms of study (FALL and/or WINTER and/or SUMMER) and complete the budget
Ensure you have the correct budget information and then click “Submit” (once you click “Submit” you cannot make changes)
Select awards from the list of eligible awards
A number of questions may appear, these are linked to the awards you have selected. If the question is not applicable to you, please type N/A or unselect the award. There is a 500-character limit (not word limit) on the questions. You can copy the questions and come back to the application when you are ready, as long as it is before the application deadline. If you wish, you can write the answers in a Word document then copy and paste them onto the application. This will help ensure you have the right number of characters and will enable you to check your grammar and spelling
Click “Submit” when you have answered all the questions (once you click “Submit” you cannot make any changes)
Follow instructions to submit any additional documents as required
From the main menu of Student Home, you can track the status of your application by selecting the “Financial Aid” tile and then “View My Student Awards.”
If you are a successful recipient of an entrance scholarship, it will be applied to your student account after the 10th day of classes.

New: Diploma-to-Degree Scholarship

Award Description
A one-time scholarship of $2,500 to qualified postsecondary diploma graduates who are pursuing a TVCdegree and have not received a renewable entrance scholarship.
To be eligible for this award you must also:
have an incoming GPA 75% or 3.3 GPA and above
complete the online Financial Aid Application through Student Home by selecting the “Financial Aid” tile, then “Apply for Financial Aid”
be enrolled full time
Renewable Degree Scholarships
Open to students starting in the Fall, Winter or Summer semesters
For the Fall term the application opens July 15
For the Winter term the application opens Dec. 1
For the Summer term the application opens May 1

Award Description
Students enrolled in any of Seneca’s degree programs can qualify for a renewable scholarship based on their Grade 12 grades or grades from another postsecondary program.
Total four-year scholarship based on maintenance of grades:
70% or 3.0 GPA+ — $2,000 ($500 per year)
75% or 3.3 GPA+ — $3,000 ($750 per year)
80% or 3.6 GPA+ — $4,000 ($1,000 per year)
The renewable scholarship is based on grades in continuing years of the student’s program of study and the student maintaining full-time status.

ACCP Entrance Bursary
Open to students starting in the Fall semester only

Award Description
Awarded to a domestic student entering the full-time Financial Services Compliance Administration program who demonstrates financial need. This is an entrance bursary and the recipient will be selected by the TVCawards committee.
Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited Entrance Award:

Award Description
a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada (landed immigrant) or a protected person
be in good academic standing, as defined by TVC(80% average or equivalent)
be enrolled full-time for the academic year of study at Seneca

Ji Hun Kim Memorial Scholarship
Open to students starting in the Fall and Winter semester only

Award Description
Awarded to a full-time English Language Institute (ELI) student in good academic standing who shows leadership, embraces diversity and demonstrates active engagement on campus and in the wider community. The recipient is an international student who has completed Level 8 of the ELI program and is entering a full-time program at Seneca. The recipient will be recommended by an ELI committee and faculty. This award is established in memory of Ji Hun Kim, a Korean ELI student who was actively engaged in her studies and the community beyond the classroom. She is remembered as a force of positivity and intellectual curiosity.
TVCCollege Alumni Association Entrance Award:
Open to students starting in the Fall semester only

Award Description
Awarded to first-year full-time students enrolled in any program. Selection is based on high academic achievement. Additional consideration will be given to students who have demonstrated commitment to volunteerism and community service.
Eligible students must be Ontario residents who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and who have demonstrated financial need.
TVCCollege Board of Governors’ Entrance Scholarships:
Open to students starting in the Fall semester only

Award Description
Awarded to students entering TVCdirectly from high school based on high academic standing in their final year. Emphasis is placed on the academic subjects English, mathematics and sciences at the Grade 12 level.
Eligible students must be Ontario residents who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and who have demonstrated financial need.
TVCHuman Resources Endowed Bursary:
Open to students starting in the Fall semester only

Award Description
Awarded as an entrance scholarship for a student in the Business Administration – Human Resources program who has demonstrated financial need. Eligible students must be Ontario residents who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and who have demonstrated financial need.

Open to students starting in the Fall semester only

Award Description
Available to full-time international students who are entering into a diploma or graduate certificate program. There are a limited number of awards and selection is made by the TVCAwards Committee based on academic standing coming into the program. The renewable portion is based on yearly GPA and you must maintain full-time status to be eligible. If your GPA drops below 3.0 you will no longer be eligible for the award.
3.0 GPA+ — $500 per year
3.3 GPA+ — $750 per year
3.6 GPA+ — $1,000 per year
